Legal Authority:

Established by Resolution and order of formation by Board of Supervisors on March 3, 1944, pursuant to Health and Safety Code Sections 2024 and 2023; April 21, 2009, Board approved four year terms.

Membership Qualifications:

Five-member Board appointed as follows: • one (1) member appointed by Tulare Board of Supervisors • two (2) members appointed by Kern Board of Supervisors • one (1) member appointed by City of McFarland • one (1) member appointed by City of Delano Pursuant to Health & Safety Code Section 2022: each member appointed by governing body of city shall be an elector of the city and a resident of that portion of city which is within the District, and each member appointed from a county or portion of a county shall be an elector of the county and a resident of that portion of the county which is within the District.

Term:

Four-year term.

Duties:

The primary objective shall be the progressive elimination of mosquito breeding places, to be accomplished by • providing an educational service on control measures • performing services of temporary relief control • establishing projects of source reduction • using abatement procedure methods when necessary • general policy of cooperation
