Legal Authority:

Established by Board of Supervisors Minute Order dated October 31, 1995, as required by Government Code Section 27131. Minute Order of November 21, 1995, enacted Ordinance G-6263 establishing qualifications and continuing education requirements for the Kern County Treasurer-Tax Collector as provided by SB 866; term of the Special District member was revised from two year, to four year pursuant to Board action on February 1, 2000; bylaws revised November 27, 2007 to amend meeting scheduling.

Membership Qualifications:

The Treasury Oversight Committee shall consist of eleven (11) members: • Treasurer-Tax Collector • Auditor-Controller/County Clerk • Board of Supervisors' Representative • County Superintendent of Schools Representative • County School Boards' Representative • County Special Districts' Representative • Five (5) Public Members

Term:

Elected officials serve by virtue of office; Special District Representative serves four-year term; and Public Members serve three-year terms.

Duties:

It shall be the responsibility of the Committee to review and monitor the Kern County Pooled Treasury Investment Policy and contract for an annual investment program compliance audit.

Meeting Place and Time:

County Administrative Center Building Third Floor, Multi-Purpose Room 1115 Truxtun Avenue Bakersfield, CA Regular meetings of the Committee will be on a date to be determined by the Treasurer-Tax Collector with consultation of the committee.
