Legal Authority:

Established by Board of Supervisors Resolution 2009-457 effective December 15, 2009, pursuant to Government Code Section 31010; Ordinance G-8778, effective June 22, 2018, amended supervisorial district boundaries which changed the MCMAC from District 4 to District 2.

Membership Qualifications:

Five (5) members, all of whom shall be registered electors residing within the boundaries of the Council and within Kern County.

Term:

Terms shall be for three (3) years. The members of the Council shall be appointed by the Board of Supervisors, upon recommendation of the Second District Supervisor, and serve at the pleasure of the Board of Supervisors until their successors are appointed.

Duties:

Council shall advise the Board of Supervisors and, specifically the Second District Supervisor, on matters pertinent to the local communities of Cuddy Valley, Pine Mountain Club, Lebec, Frazier Park, Fort Tejon/Tejon Mountain Village, Pinon Pines, Pine Ridge and Lake of the Woods, concerning services which are, or may be, provided to the mountain communities area by the County and other local governmental agencies, including but not limited to advice on matters of public health, safety, welfare, public works and planning.

Meeting Place and Time:

Meeting place and time to be determined by the MCMAC.

Compensation:

None.

Ethics Training:

Pursuant to State law, on or after January 1, 2006, any person newly appointed shall successfully complete a course in ethics training approved by the Fair Political Practices Commission and Attorney General. Each member is required to complete this training every two years.
